ATTENTION
Entry Form Deadline Extended to August 5, 2009
Western Fair is pleased to share that we are joining forces with many local community organizations to create and develop a Community Showcase area, totalling approximately 8,000 sq. ft. of display space in the Canada Building. This new feature promises to be a quality attraction at this year’s Western Fair, September 11-20, and one we hope will grow as interest is developed.
The Community Showcase area of the Fair promises to show-off the talents of artisans, crafters, horticulturalists, you name it. It will provide an opportunity for live “hands on” demonstrations to those individuals and organizations involved. They can boast about what it is they do best...quilting, painting, pottery, music! A downsized competitive section for various competitions previously offered at the annual fair will also make up a portion of the display, with this area currently under development.
We hope you or your craft/artisan group are interested in participating in the Community Showcase at the 2009 Western Fair, and we would like to hear from you.

Dear Fair Patron,
Western Fair Association sincerely thanks you for your support of our Fair competitions over the years. Whether you have competed or just admired the work displayed at the Fair, produced by creative and talented groups and individuals in our community, we know that arts, crafts, culinary and horticultural competitions mean a lot to many in our community.
This became very clear to us from feedback last year, after a number of changes were introduced in 2008 to the Home Arts competitions. Thanks to the letters, phone calls and survey results we received from the community, Western Fair staff, Directors, and volunteer committees got together to discuss this input provided by the community. We knew we had to provide the quality displays that patrons have come to love viewing, while eliminating many of the competition requirements of this department. Revitalizing this area of the Fair was considered a necessity. Thus, the idea of a Community Showcase was born.
