Hardy Shore (1903-1984) and Robert “Bob” Shore (1932-2007), a father & son team, dedicated their lifetime achievements to the improvement and promotion of Holstein cattle.
Hardy, a past president of the Holstein Association of Canada, bred and owned several All-Canadian cattle, resulting in him being awarded the Master Breeder Shield. In 1949 he was a founder of Shore Holsteins Limited of Glanworth, ON.
Bob, a well respected cattle auctioneer, graduated from the University of Guelph. He and his father managed Shore Holsteins Ltd. which grew into an international export business, selling cattle and genetics to over 60 countries. Hardy and Bob Shore who were recognized world-wide were also actively involved with numerous causes and organizations within their own community.

William C Frank (b 1923), MP 1972-1974, is a well-respected businessman and community leader in the Hyde Park area. He started Hyde Park Farm Supply Inc. in 1955 as a feed dealership and by the 1960’s he manufactured and distributed livestock and poultry equipment to farmers across Canada and the United States. As a breeder of poultry and later swine, Bill was actively involved with the Ontario Egg Producers’ Marketing Board for many years. He is a Past President of the Ilderton Agricultural Society and served on several organizations within his community.

Joseph H. Patrick (1863-1939), a renowned Ilderton-area stockman, was a director, exhibitor and judge at the Ilderton Fair, Western Fair, the RAWF, and the Chicago International Stock show. For a period of over 50 years, Joe masterminded the importing, breeding, sales and exporting of large numbers of sheep and livestock to and from the Ilderton area. One of the most spectacular was the shipping in 1901 of a train from Ilderton containing 600 ewes destined for Idaho. IN 1921, he exported the first shipment of Holstein cattle to Japan.
