London Wine and Food Show - January 20, 21, 22

For Immediate Release: January 11, 2006

The Western Fair Association has created the hottest new fine wine and food extravaganza to hit the show circuit - The London Wine and Food Show. The hunt for a high-end wine and food showcase in south-western Ontario is over. The first ever London Wine and Food Show will take place in the PROGRESS BUILDING at the Western Fairgrounds from January 20 - 22, 2006.

Daily Showtimes are:

Friday, January 20 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 21 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, January 22 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Admission: $8.00
(Must be 19 years of age or older.)

Sampling Tickets:
50 cents each. Number of sample tickets required, varies by exhibitor.

Friday January 20

Dairy Farmers of Canada Seminar Room

  • “The Pleasure of Cheese” Presentations by Dairy Farmers of Canada throughout the day
  • Interactive Wine Seminar and Tasting by Randy Dufour of Vincor International. East Meets West: Niagara and the Okanagan. Canada is one country but is it one wine growing region?
  • Craft Brewing Demonstrations by Jim Brickman of Brick Brewing. Learn about the 1st Craft Brewery in Ontario.

London Wine and Food Stage

  • Cooking with Beer demonstration by Alan Griffiths, Brewmaster for Labatt Breweries and Chef Anna Jesse, Silver Plate Catering. Beer Bread, Beer Chili and Beer Truffles.
  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Chef John Densky, Black Trumpet Restaurant
  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Executive Chef, Keith Walters, Top of the Fair Restaurant

Saturday, January 21

Dairy Farmers of Canada Seminar Room

  • “The Pleasure of Cheese” Presentations by Dairy Farmers of Canada throughout the day.
  • Creekside Estate Winery Interactive Seminar and Tasting. Red wine grapes in Ontario: Past, Present and Future by Wine Maker Rob Power.
  • Interactive Seminar by Peter Bodnar Rod. Sommelier, the Principles of Pairing: Deconstructing Everyday Menus for Extraordinary Wine and Food Pairing Success.”
  • Diamond Estates: “Great Houses, Great Values” Experience great valued wines from several of the world’s best wine houses by Laura Higgins.

  • Gourmet cooking demonstrations by Food Network’s Christine Cushing: Cook with Me.
  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Chef John Densky, the Black Trumpet Restaurant.
  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Chef Andrew Wolwowicz, Savoury Street Cuisine.

Sunday, January 22

  • “The Pleasure of Cheese” Presentations by Dairy Farmers of Canada throughout the day
  • Wine educator and author Tony Aspler, ‘Tasting Like a Pro’

London Wine and Food Stage

  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Chef Kevin Greaves, Jambalaya Pad Thai, Jambalaya Restaurant.
  • Gourmet cooking demonstration by Chef David Chapman, A three course dinner to try at home. David’s Bistro.

Other Highlights:

  • Be welcomed by the Classy Sazz Cabaret
  • Wine Tasting Glass provided to every show patron.
  • Music throughout the show - Jazz stylings by Charmaine and a little Latin flare with Pachanga.
