The Western Fair Association is thrilled to be named one
of the ‘TOP 50’ events in Ontario! Winners were
announced over the weekend at the Festival and Events Ontario
(FEO) Convention in Niagara Falls. Every year FEO recognizes
excellence in the province’s festivals and community
events industry. Those in the event industry compete annually
for the coveted “TOP 50” designation. The criteria
used in the selection process includes: ability to attract
regional, provincial and/or national visitors, quality of
experience, annual community-based event, uniqueness and a
demonstrated potential for growth and contribution to the
community.
“This award is a fantastic way to start the year, as
our management and staff are in the planning stages for the
2006 Western Fair. We have listened to our customers, and
are putting a whole NEW spin on this annual event,”
said Dave Taylor, Fair Manager for the Western Fair Association,
“and the TOP 50 award is the icing on the cake; it just
gives us that extra encouragement. We are running a premiere
event and are implementing many new initiatives for 2006 to
ensure we continue to be an award winner.”
This year’s event, scheduled for September 8-17, will
be a totally NEW experience, even for those who traditionally
come year after year. Priorities for 2006 include new attractions
and rides to complement traditional favourites, new grounds
and building layouts, top quality fair entertainment, exemplary
customer service, and enhanced facilities. The focus on family
will ensure a great new selection of free children's activities
and family attractions around the grounds, plus many new educational
and entertainment experiences in the Agriplex.
As a newly designated Top 50 Event in Ontario, the Western
Fair hopes the London community will come out and experience
the NEW changes to the 2006 Fair. “We take pride in
our past accomplishments and look forward to the changes planned
for the 2006 Fair, and another award winning year,”
says Taylor.
