Today at the President’s Luncheon, The Western Fair
Association announced a series of monetary donations to three
local organizations.
The Western Fair Association supports the efforts of Easter
Seals Camp Woodeden in the transformation of the camp into
Canada’s first year-round sports and recreation camp
for kids with physical disabilities. These funds will support
the creation of a state of the art Multi-Sport Gymnasium and
Recreation Centre.
The Western Fair Association is supportive of arts and culture
in the City of London. Funds donated to the Palace Theatre
will help facilitate their capital restoration project to
bring the almost 80 year old venue back to its former glory.
Funds supporting this restoration project will also create
more community space and vastly improve the ease of access
within the building. The preservation of the historic Palace
Theatre emphasizes Western Fair Association’s support
of community culture in London.
The Western Fair has been a long-time supporter of the Salvation
Army and the funds donated will directly support the vital
Christmas Hamper Program which provides food baskets, children’s
gifts and clothing for families in need at Christmas time.
Western Fair Association values the contribution this service
makes to the London community.
All funds are donated from Western Fair’s Community
Enhancement Fund, established from a 1% collection of slot
machine revenue.
