The Western Fair Association will donate $5,000 to London’s
McCormick Home Capital Campaign with funds designated for
a new Alzheimer Outreach Centre. The cheque will be presented
Thursday, September 15, on stage at the Charley Pride concert.
McCormack’s new Alzheimer Outreach Centre will provide
safe, supervised activities, respite for caregivers and support
to allow participants to remain longer at home. The Centre
will also house program rooms for specialized care, access
to secure outdoor space, meeting rooms for Family Support
and a dedicated entrance for Alzheimer Day Programs.
The funds for this donation come from the Western Fair’s
Community Enhancement Fund, established from a 1% collection
of slot machine revenue.
One more major donation will be announced at the end of the
Fair (September 9-18). Watch for a media update announcing
this event.
