NEWS RELEASE October 23, 2006

New Use for Old IMAX Theatre Building is Music to Western Fair Association’s Ears

Due to the vacancy of the attractive IMAX theatre building on the Western Fairgrounds and many months of researching a complimentary use for the facility, the Western Fair Association is thrilled to announce that an agreement has been reached and the Western Fair Entertainment Centre will be home to the London City Music Hall.

The Music Hall is a corporate partnership between the Western Fair Association and London City Music Hall Inc. The Music Hall is just one of a number of new innovative strategies the Western Fair Association is implementing as part of a strategic plan that focuses on the Association’s core strengths, community and corporate partnerships. “From our perspective the London City Music Hall will provide a synergistic addition to our diverse Entertainment Centre and meets the needs of our mission statement, to create unique experiences that fulfil the evolving entertainment /recreational and educational interests of our customers, said Hugh Mitchell, Western Fair Association’s Chief Operating Officer.

The Music Hall, which will be developed by Dale Henderson, owner of London City Music Hall Inc., has the potential to be a very important artistic facility for London, Ontario and will blend industry, community, tourism and artistic professionals within the local arts culture. “As performance plans unfold and interested groups, businesses and artists unite, the London City Music Hall will become a strong regional attraction, inviting the community-at-large to become involved; this will be a facility for the public” said Mr. Henderson, Music Hall Manager.

“This project will get off the ground slowly as renovation requirements, entertainment bookings and community partnerships are developed. Businesses, theatre groups, entertainers, and the like, interested in being a part of this process and getting in on the ground level of this new community venture, should get in touch soon.” says Henderson.
