In addition to an award for Best New
Idea presented to Western Fair Association last month at
the Canadian Fairs and Expositions convention in Edmonton,
the ten-day Western Fair has also been recognized with
five first place awards at the (IAFE) International Association
of Fairs and Expositions convention held in Las Vegas,
Nevada in December. The IAFE has a membership of over 3,200
fairs around the globe, and is headquartered in Springfield
Missouri. Entries are judged by a team of industry leaders.
Western Fair was recognized with first
place honours in three categories within the Competitive
Exhibits area: Competitive Displays, New and Unique Competitive
Strategies, and Innovative Judging Techniques.
In the category of Communication Awards,
Western Fair was recognized with first place honours for
Website Design and for Outdoor Advertising Campaign. Both
of these communication awards are shared between Western
Fair Association and Imantis Advertising Group, a local
advertising agency who worked with Western Fair on this
year’s ‘New Adventures Await’ campaign.
“This was a year of many changes
at the Western Fair, and these recognitions from our own
industry are indicative that we are taking positive steps
to ensure a strong future for the annual Fair,” said
Fair Manager Dave Taylor.
